Fitness, Lifestyle and Food Favs.

In the past few months, my Fitness, Lifestyle and Food Choices have changed slightly. Its hard to explain why, in a few words, so instead I will tell you about a few of the best things I have discovered and fallen in love with during this time.

—————————————————————————————————————————————–

Number 1. Active Wear!

Tights

I mean, who doesn’t love colourful workout gear right? Sure, they might not be the most flattering but who cares! I have become slightly obsessed with Workout Tights. Sure, I love buying Tops, Sports Bras, Shoes etc but tights are my favorite. The ones pictured above are the one’s I am currently loving. They range from ‘expensive’ to ‘affordable’ but I personally think some of the cheapest workout gear I own is the comfyest! I good chunk of my gear is from Cotton on Body with a few other things here and there from New Balance, Puma, Big W, Kmart etc.

Number 2 – Virgin Active

My Gym. This gym is amazing. Weights Rooms, Pool/ Sauna/ Spa, Classes, a Climbing Wall, Amazing Trainers! The list goes on. (I won’t go on about it too much here because I am going to do a full post/ review in the near future about it. But I still have to mention it.) It has changed my perspective of gyms and because of this gym I have become a person who enjoys and looks forward to my gym sessions.

I never thought I would become this person, before joining Virgin. If you are looking for a new gym, keep a look out for my post as I will try my best to convince you that this is the gym for you! Sure, it may not be the cheapest, but in my eyes, its the BEST.

Number 3 – Yoga

I love Yoga.

I go to Yoga once or twice a week, and I have been doing this for 4-5 months now. I started because I wanted to become stronger, increase my flexibility and just generally try something new. I never imagined I would become a full blown addict. I have 100% become more flexible and stronger and If I am not doing Yoga in a class at the gym, I am doing it at home.

My go to type of Yoga is Vinyasa Flow. This is a more active Yoga compared to some others but its the one I have gone back to time and time again. I have also found with Yoga, that a huge part of enjoying the class is the instructor. The way it is taught, how they interact and the voice of the instructor makes a huge difference (well for me anyway). I could go on and on about this but I shall leave that for its own post.

Number 4 – Food and Meal Planning

A few of my Kitchen Essentials
A few of my Kitchen Essentials

The last little while (Lets be real, its been on and off for a long while) I have become more and more aware of what I am eating/ what agrees with me and what doesn’t. During this time I have discovered a few of my must have’s in the kitchen.

First would be a Clean Protein Powder. Its so universal. I use this for Baking, Making pancakes, Smoothies and Pre-workout snacks. Secondly would be Chia Seeds. The list of benefits for these are endless. I put them in smoothies, on salads, in baking etc etc. Such a great source of healthy fats and good for keeping you fuller for longer.

Eggs and mushrooms have been a solid breakfast for me recently (with the odd smoothie int here somewhere). I find that eggs, and some kind of vegetable, whether that’s, mushrooms, spinach, courgette etc is the kind of breakfast that gets me going and keeps me full in the morning. It has definitely been a favourite.

Lastly, Meal Planning. I think it is so important for living a healthy lifestyle. It keeps you on track, and helps you make a list for the coming week. Its so much easier to know what you are having in advance and it means that if you are trying to be healthy, there is a less likely chance of slipping up and having fast food for dinner.

5 – Water

I have become so good recently at drinking water! Which is huge for me as I have always struggled to drink it without it being a chore. I realized that having a cute drinkbottle sitting next to me has made me drink more water without thinking about it and on those days where I really just don’t feel like it, I will add a fruity tea bag/ Lemon / Lime to flavour it and I am good to go.

The benefits of drinking water are endless. Just do it a little bit at a time and see/ feel the difference.

6 – Plants, Candles and Paintings

The makings of a house becoming homely.

I have recently become obsessed with our one house plant. Its a ‘Fruit Salad Plant’ (Featured in above pictures) which we never knew would grow so big (Getting a new pot for it soon, it will soon be a floor plant as it takes over half the table!) and everyday it seems to grow a bit more. It makes the house become a bit more alive and fresh.

My fav scent of candle currently is Vanilla & Caramel. It just smells so good! and sweet and lovely!

I feel like this blog post could go on forever but I shall leave it here. I hope you have somewhat enjoyed reading about a few of my favourite things. I enjoyed writing it!

Please leave below any questions regarding things I have mentioned. Tell me a few things you are loving!

Until next time,

Tracy
